Club History
Nîmes Archery Club (ACDN)
At its beginning, the main objective for Nimes Archery Club, collaborating with the city, was to build one of the biggest archery club in France, concerning archers welcoming, formation, sports results and events organization.
1982/1985
CSAM Archery section was created on "Stade de l'Assomption" field, unveiling was held in 1982 by Mr. Emile Jourdan, Nîmes Mayor and Mr. Alain Clary, Sports manager of Nîmes.
1985
Merging of CSAM archery section and "Club Rome Française" in order to create Nîmes Archery Club : 35 members.
1986
Unveiling, in March, of the Archery dedicated center (Assomption field) by Mr. Jean Bousquet, Nîmes Mayor, and Mr. Jean Agot, Sports Manager of Nîmes
1987/1996
Every June, organisation of an international outdoor tournament, welcoming more than 200 archers coming from 6 different nations
1997
Organization of the 1st European Indoor Archery Tournament, welcoming more than 300 archers from 6 different European countries.
2003
In March, we organized World Indoor Archery Championships, with a huge success, welcoming more than 10 000 attendants. This event allowed the expansion of Archery Center (Assomption Field), with the unveiling of the 2nd dedicated hall by Mr. Jean-François Lamour, Sports Minister and Mr. Jean-Paul Fournier, Nîmes Mayor.
2007
Organization of the 10th European Indoor Archery Tournament, welcoming more than 1000 archers from 22 different countries worldwide, making it the 3rd bigger event in the World.
Activity Development from 1985 to 2007.
From 35 members in 1985 to more than 160 in 2007, with 50% of "under 18" archers and becoming even more stronger with its results at regional, national and international level, Nîmes Archery Club, has quickly reached its objectives, and is considered for several years as one of the 5 best clubs inside the French Archery Association (FFTA)
2010
Organization of the World Archery Challenge, with International Archery Federation (FITA) and the World Archery Festival, held in Las Vegas

More than 100 selections in National Team (O. GRILLAT, JP. BARON, N. LIOTAUD, V. SIEFERT, P. FAPPIANO, S. BONAL, C. PLOQUIN, N. BERNARD, Y. PALERMO, A. TRAYAN, J. FITON et G. BARTHELOT)
All those archers from Nîmes are or were chosen to be in the French national team, for European Championships, World Championships, Mediterranean Games or Olympic Games
